Standing at 6'6" (or 2 metres) it is not surprising that I was given the nickname "Sticks" when playing Australian Rules football for Port Adelaide. It was at this time that my passion for winemaking also took hold, learning and working alongside some of the country's leading winemakers and viticulturalists.

In 2001 the first "Sticks" wines were released. They are made from fruit grown on premium Yarra Valley vineyards owned by my partners, who are some of the Yarra Valley's best grape growers. With access to such high quality grapes my role as winemaker is very straightforward, that is, to express the varietal characters of the grapes and the region in each of the "Sticks" wines.
